Contract between VVDN Inks and C-DAC to manufacture the first locally designed HPC server in India

GURUGRAM, India, July 28, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — VVDN Technologies, a global provider of engineering, manufacturing and digital services and solutions, today announced that it has signed a contract with the Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), an organization leading R&D facility of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), for the manufacture of india first locally designed high performance computing (HPC) servers “RUDRA”, in the presence of the honorable secretary MeitY, Shri Alkesh Kumar Sharma.

“RUDRA” HPC servers, designed by C-DAC, will be manufactured by VVDN under the National Supercomputing Mission and are expected to be used in C-DAC’s “PARAM” series of supercomputers. A wide range of industries, including high performance computing (HPC), hyperscale data centers, edge computing, banking and commerce, manufacturing, oil and gas, and healthcare can benefit from the locally built server.

VVDN has set up a complete manufacturing facility with SMT lines capable of handling board sizes up to 850mm x 560mm. The company also has a large mechanical infrastructure with tooling and injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, dedicated assembly lines, robust testing, validation and reliability implementation. VVDN has expertise in designing, developing and manufacturing servers such as rack storage servers, communication servers, etc. While working in the data center space, VVDN has its own IP addresses for OvS and SSL for network computing.

Recently, VVDN was approved under the PLI program for computer hardware, which includes manufacturing servers, laptops, tablets, all-in-one desktops, and more. VVDN has also been approved under 3 other PLIs by the government. of India in the field of telecommunications and network equipment manufacturing, white goods manufacturing, and automotive and automotive component manufacturing.
