Before it appears in the Eternals, Eros had never been seen or mentioned in the MCU. In the surprise scene, the Eternals were searching for the remaining Celestials when Eros suddenly interrupted them.

He was joined by Pip the Troll who announced his arrival on the Domo and introduced him as the prince of Titan. Eros announced that he knew where to find the recently abducted Phastos, Kingo, and Sersi, all of whom were in danger. Plus, he could help Druig, Thena, and Makkari get them back.

Eros Is A “Pretty Foxy Dude” In Marvel Comics

Instead of being like his brother Mad Titan, Eros is a carefree adventurer and womanizer known as Starfox. It’s a code name he got from Wasp when he joined the Avengers because he’s a “pretty crafty guy” from the stars.

It’s part of Marvel’s cosmic canon, which MCU fans know from guardians of the galaxy. And, most notably, he’s a huge flirt. Seriously, he was on a team with Scarlet Witch, Monica “Captain Marvel” Rambeau, Wasp, and She-Hulk, and Starfox flirted with all of them. It should also be mentioned that in the comics, Starfox has “pleasure power”.

What could Styles’ surprise appearance as Eros – aka Starfox – mean for the character’s future in the MCU? According to Giant Freakin’ Robot, it could be even more “massive” than even the biggest fans saw coming.

The outlet reports that Styles has signed a five-movie deal with Marvel Studios, and their trusted insider promises big things.

“Harry Styles is set to become a big part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Audiences should expect to see a lot more of him. He spoke to Marvel boss Kevin Feige, who promised big things for the future of the actor. A solo project for Starfox is a possibility on the table,” the insider explained.

“It looks like Harry Styles is being set up for a massive future in their cinematic universe, something akin to Nick Fury’s many appearances.”

Marvel hasn’t confirmed the Starfox rumors

Although the insider is touted as reliable, with a history of Marvel truths, we must clarify that the claim that Styles has signed a five-movie deal is just a rumor. No one from the Marvel team or Styles has confirmed this to be true.

Feige addressed Styles’ appearance in Eternals, although. At the Hollywood premiere of Spider-Man: No Coming Home in December, Feige actually teased the character’s return. But, he didn’t reveal any details about Styles’ possible future in the MCU.

Feige spoke with entertainment tonight on the appearance of Styles in the Eternals‘ mid-credits scene. The Marvel boss called it a “funny tag at the end of the movie.” He also praised the Starfox character and said Styles has a large following inside and outside of Marvel Studios.

Feige concluded his statement by saying that as the MCU grows and continues in the cosmic arena, “there are ideas.” Fans will have to wait and see if these “ideas” mean a Starfox appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which comes out in 2023.
