LEO (July 23-August 22):
A Leo astrologer I’ve known for years told me, “Here’s a secret about us Leos. No matter what, despite pitfalls and pitfalls, my ego will remain intact. It’s not going to crack. You can hurl five insults’ worth of insults at my skull, and I’ll leave without even a hint of concussion. I believe in myself and adore myself, but more importantly: I trust my own consistency as I trust the sun to shine. Wow! It’s quite a testimony. I’m not sure I’ll buy it completely, though. I’ve known a few Leos whose confidence faltered after a minor misstep. But here is the purpose of my horoscope: I encourage you to allow some slight ego deflation in the coming days. If you do, I believe it will generate a major ego boost by August. And that would be a very good thing.
VIRGO (August 23-September 22):
Virgin poet Claude de Burine described how one night, when she was three years old, she snuck out of the house with her parents’ champagne bucket so she could fill it with moonshine. I think activities like this will be a worthwhile pursuit for you in the coming days. You are entering a favorable phase to go in search of lyrical and fanciful experiences. I hope you will make yourself available for wonders and curiosities and fun surprises.
LIBRA (Sep 23-Oct 22):
There is a difference between being nice and being nice. Being nice is often motivated by a mechanical politeness, by a habitual desire to appear pleasant. It may be rooted more in a desire to be loved than in a genuine need to bestow blessings. On the other hand, being kind is a sincere expression of care and concern for others. It promotes true intimacy. I bring these thoughts to your attention because I think one of Libra’s lifelong tasks is to master the art of being kind rather than just kind. And at this time, it is a particularly favorable phase for you to refine your practice.
SCORPIO (23 Oct-21 Nov):
You sometimes feel like you need to tone down your smoldering intensity, avert your dark star gazes, conceal your sultry charisma, dull your persuasive speech, pretend you don’t have as much stamina, disguise your awareness of supernatural connections, act less like a saint and a martyr in your zealous devotions, and refrain from revealing your ability to read between the lines. But none of these avoidance tricks usually work very well. The real you slips into view. In the coming weeks, I hope you don’t engage in any of the hiding behaviors I’ve described. This is an auspicious time to freely spread your Scorpionic blessings.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov 22-Dec 21):
There could be interesting and important events happening while you sleep in the nights to come. If a butterfly lands on you in a dream, it may mean that you are preparing for a spiritual transformation in waking life. It could be a sign that you are receptive to a breakthrough idea that you weren’t open to before. If you dream of a baby animal, it could mean that you are ready to welcome the rebirth of a part of you that was dormant, sluggish, or unavailable. Dreams in which you are flying suggest that you may soon escape a feeling of heaviness or inertia.
CAPRICORN (December 22-January 19):
How to be the best Capricorn you can be in the weeks and months ahead: 1. Develop a disciplined, well-planned strategy to achieve more freedom. 2. Keep climbing even if you have no competitors and no one else at the top. 3. Loosen your firm grip and steely resolve just enough to allow the world to appreciate you. 4. Never let the people you love think you take them for granted. 5. Be younger today than you were yesterday.
AQUARIUS (January 20-February 18):
In the next seven to eight weeks, I would like you to embody an attitude on intimacy articulated by the author Hélène Cixous. Here is his aspiration: “I want to love a person freely, including all their secrets. I want to love in this person someone she does not know. I want to love without judgement, without fault. Without fake, without true. I want to encounter it between words, under language. And yes, dear Aquarius, I know this is a monumental undertaking. If you like it, do your best to integrate it. Perfection is not required.
PISCES (February 19-March 20):
I periodically see a Chinese medicine doctor who tells me that one of the best things I can do for my health is to walk barefoot EVERYWHERE! On the sidewalk, through buildings, and especially in woods and natural areas. He says that being in direct contact with our beloved earth can provide me with energy nourishment otherwise impossible. I have resisted the doc’s advice so far. It would take me some time for the soles of my feet to get used to the wear and tear of walking barefoot. I bring this up, Pisces, because the coming weeks will be a great time for you to try what I haven’t done yet. In fact, anything you do to deepen your connection to the earth will be further healing. I invite you to lie in the sand, cuddle the trees, converse with the birds, shout prayers to the mountains and bathe in the rivers or lakes.
ARIES (March 21-April 19):
You are entering the Season of Renewal of Love. To celebrate, I offer you a poem by the 8th century Tamil poet Andal. Whatever your gender, I invite you to visualize yourself as the “snake-cut woman” to whom she speaks. Here is Andal, bringing a fiery touch of exclamation points: “Awake, Snakewaist woman! Show your enchantment! Swoop your cheerfulness and pop your spiral bow! As the wild peacocks flicker and roam and catch the nervous air of lightning! Invoke the thunders of your love! Control the wind sensitive! Resurrect the flavor of eternal birth!
TAURUS (April 20-May 20):
Tips for making the most of the next three weeks: 1. Work harder, last longer, and finish more gracefully than everyone else. 2. Be in love with beauty. Implore it, surround yourself with it and create it. Be especially in love with beautiful things that are also useful. 3. Taste the mist, smell the clouds, embrace the music, praise the earth, and listen to the moon in the daytime sky. 4. Never stop building! Keep building and building and building: your joy, your safety, your love, your beauty, your endurance, your sense of wonder.
GEMINI (May 21-June 20):
Gemini astrologer Astrolocherry says that while Gemini “may seem naïve and airy to onlookers, their minds generally run at the speed of light. They naturally absorb every surrounding particle of intellectual stimuli. They constantly observe their interactions at the looking for opportunities to expand their knowledge. I believe these qualities will work at their peak intensity over the next four weeks, Gemini, perhaps even beyond peak intensity. Please try to enjoy fully out of this phase without becoming manic or overworked.If all goes well, you could learn more in the next four weeks than most people learn in four months.
CANCER (June 21-July 22):
Naeem Callaway founded Get Out The Box, an organization that mentors at-risk youth in rural and low-income communities. Here is one of his main teachings: “Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life. Tiptoe if you must, but take the step. Even if you don’t fit the profile of the people Callaway serves, his advice is perfect for you right now. For now, I urge you to set aside any plans you may have for grand deeds. Concentrate on just one of the many possible tasks you could pursue, and perform it with determined concentration.
