Why would he leave?

As David Ornstein explains in his column on Monday, Manchester United’s hopes of signing a broad striker before the transfer window closes have led to speculation about James’ future, with a host of clubs known to be. interested in a loan for the Welsh international.

James was left out of the United squad for Saturday’s spectacular 3-2 victory at Brighton, who are among the 22-year-old’s contenders.

Who is interested?

Brighton manager Graham Potter made his league debut at James during their time at Swansea and would like to end up on the south coast.

Leeds almost recruited James in January 2018 and are another interested party in the occasion.

How is its recent form?

After a promising start after his £ 15million transfer from Swansea last summer, James has had a difficult first season at United. In 34 appearances, he has three goals and six assists.

He started in their opener of the current campaign against Crystal Palace, but was an unused substitute for the Carabao Cup victory over Luton before missing the game against Brighton.

What’s gonna happen?

United are expected to decide to keep him at Old Trafford for the time being, regardless if a new face comes along.

Efforts are underway to bring in a right-wing player and United boss Solskjaer reportedly wants James to be an option for the left.

What else is there in Ornstein’s Monday column?

Lots of information on the likely deals from the last week of the window, including updates on Jadon Sancho, Alexandre Lacazette, and Jude Bellingham.
