Rick and Morty exist in the Star Trek universe with a fresh Easter egg

At Rick and Morty The sixth season is set to arrive later this year, continuing the adventures of the belching mad scientist, his clumsy grandson, and the rest of the Smith family. Before the Adult Swim series made its big comeback, it looks like the Cartoon Network characters were confirmed in a rather unlikely place: the star trek universe. With the second season of Star Trek: Picard by taking its main characters into the past, it would seem that the adventures of the Smith family existed before the arrival of the Enterprise.

For those who may not be familiar with the current history of Star Trek: Picard, Patrick Stewart’s Jean-Luc Picard encountered the all-powerful being known as Q following a deadly encounter with the Borg. As Picard and his ragtag crew are placed in an overbearing reality where humanity has overtaken the stars by force, they now venture into the past to prepare for the future. During the third episode of Picard’s second season, we see the character, Rios, having a teleporter accident and being placed in the hospital in the year 2024. During which, a mother tells her child that he won’t be allowed to watch rick and mortyconfirming that the Adult Swim series has been released in the past within the Starship Enterprise universe.

star trek itself has seen plenty of wild crossovers in the past, with the Enterprise coming into contact with the likes of the X-Men, Dr. Who, Green Lanternand even the Planet of the Apes. While we wouldn’t expect any of these crossovers to make it into the live-action world, Patrick Stewart is still filling the gap as rumors continue to swirl that he’s a surefire bet for have a role in the next Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, as Professor Charles Xavier.
