Terry Crews Reacts to Joining the Walking Dead Universe: “Let’s Go!”

Actor Terry Crews is thrilled to officially join The Walking Dead universe. AMC Networks recently officially announced that the Brooklyn nine-nine star will appear in the upcoming spin-off series titled Tales of the Living Dead. Terry Crews will also star alongside fellow franchise newcomer Anthony Edwards (Superior gun, Zodiac), Poppy Liu (iCarly, hacks), Jillian Bell (Godmother, hard night), and Parker Posey (lost in space, Blade Trinity). Most details about Terry Crews’ role in the upcoming series are being kept under wraps at this time, but the actor expressed his excitement on his Instagram page. “Honored to join this amazing franchise with these amazing actors! IT’S GO!!!!” Terry Crews is known for many films, including White Chicks, Idiocracyand The Expendables franchise. On the small screen, he starred in the sitcom Are we already there?the reality series Family crewsand also hosted many episodes of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, Ultimate Beastmaster, and America’s Got Talent and its spinoffs for NBC, including the upcoming AGT: Extreme. The casting announcement for Terry Crews, along with the other stars mentioned above, is just the very first wave of talent set to appear in Tales of the Living Dead.

Tales of the Living Dead, Explained

Tales of the Living Dead is an upcoming television series that will take place in The Walking Dead universe. The upcoming series will be an episodic anthology that will follow individual characters from The Walking Dead universe, both new and old. Filming for the series began last month in Buford, Georgia. Michael Satrazemis is set to direct the series premiere, as well as two more first-season episodes. Haifaa al-Mansour, Deborah Kampmeier and Tara Nicole Weyr are also directing the remaining three episodes, respectively. It has been confirmed that the first season of Tales of the Walking Dead will consist of a total of six episodes.

Tales of the Living Dead is the third series derived from The Walking Dead television series, after Fear the living deadand The Walking Dead: World Beyond. Writer and producer Scott Gimple said it’s possible an episode will feature the entire plane crash sequence of world beyond pilot episode. He also implied that Fear the Walking Dead Madison Clark may appear in an episode. Actress Sonequa Martin-Green, who portrayed Sasha Williams, had expressed interest in returning for an episode. With no confirmed release date as of yet, it has been revealed that Tales of the Living Dead will arrive on AMC and AMC+ in the summer of 2022.
