Mattel and Milestone are speeding up Hot Wheels Unleashed with a plethora of downloadable content across three content packs, which include Barbie, DC, Street Fighter, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Masters of the Universe-the linked cars.

Released on September 30 along with the game, the first Hot Wheels Pass will feature 10 vehicles based on Barbie, DC, Street Fighter and TMNT, three customization packs and three track building modules. It will also have a Batman DLC expansion in the future. We know official automakers like Aston Martin, BMW and McLaren will be joining in the fun as well.

Volumes 2 and 3 will be released later on an unspecified date. Unique DLC packs such as vehicles, track building mods, and customization items will be released every month. Completing the challenges of the racing seasons will also unlock new vehicles and customization items; these are free and are excluded from Hot Wheels passes.

At launch, there will be 66 vehicles available to race with such as the Batmobile, the Party Wagon of TMNT, KITT of Knight rider, and the DeLorean Time Machine from Back to the future. It looks like it will be the Super Smash Bros. racing games. A full list of cars in the game has also been released.

Milestone has some credibility in the racing genre as it has developed the MotoGP and WRC game series so there are high hopes that this Hot Wheels linkage game will hit the mark. Hot Wheels Unleashed will drift into physical and digital stores for PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
